I'm a farm-born technologist, artist and social advocate living and working in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I spent my forties pushing back against a chaotic tide, my thirties promoting the open source software movement, and my twenties pretending to be a middle-aged taxidermist.  Blessed with an extraordinary family and a good crop of friends, I enjoy hiking, camping, unusual puzzles, used bookstores, all forms of tinkering, spirited discussions, and a good hot cup of tea.
